Part of the Ancillary Texts is the Digipak, which is the album cover of the disc and features six panels. Each panel required some level of photoshop in order to display technological skill.
Below are each individual panel and a description of how they were created.
This panel is featured at the bottom left of the digipak, and serves to identify and give a role to each member of the band. The main reason for this was for people who purchase the album to be able to identify and know us based on the music video and the roles given. We also included two blacked out figures with only an item of clothing visible. This was for the audience to recognise who they are, and through this activity we hope they may be able to grow closer to the band and it's members through familiarity. We chose to have this featuring very dull and plain colours to contrast most other panels, as constant vibrance can become boring. It also helps imply a serious tone to the band to contrast the fun, energetic examples set by other panels. The editing was relatively simple, as the only technical photoshopping required was blacking out the two members' body parts and leaving their clothes visible. This panel serves for people to see the contents of the CD, which is useful to them as it allows for them to recognise songs they may have heard before, as well as allowing them to identify the songs according to the order in which they are played. Similar to the last panel, this took little time to create in Photoshop, as the only editing required was to put text in front of a background.
This panel is the front cover, which is very important to make sure it looks good. This will be the only part of the album that the customer will see, so we chose to make the colours of "A-Club" vibrant and include the allocated colours of each of our band, similar to JLS. This once again to relatively little editing, as the picture of us on a swing was already taken and in the right shape, so the only things I had to change was adding the name of the band and the name of the album.

This single section of the playing card contains one band member and their allocated colour. In this instance, Azimul is displayed in blue. We chose to have this effect due to the fact that we are only making one music video, meaning there is no time for the audience to identify us as members of a band with personalities. Because of this, we chose to create playing cards with different colours and the title that comes with unique playing cards. In this instance, Azimul is the 'Jack'. The editing process to create this effect was somewhat difficult, as it required multiple steps. Firstly, we had to make the entire picture one colour corresponding to the band member being displayed. We then had to create a border around the playing card in the same colour. We then had to photoshop the background out so that the member was the only thing left in the picture. We then added the description to the card, making them individualised. As well as this, we realised that the name of the card (Ace, Jack, King and Joker) could be used to describe the band members accordingly, which we did.
This is the fourth panel, and shows Destiny and James in their respective colours as a pair of playing cards. We decided that Destiny should be the "Ace", implying that he is the best at drumming. We made James the "King", as we appointed him the leader of our group. This panel shows me and Azimul, completing the band members as paying cards. We chose that Azimul would be the "Jack", implying that he is a 'Jack of all trades', or that he is quite good at everything. I chose t be the "Joker", as the only other one left was the "Queen", which I disputed. It also is appropriate because in the album I stand out wearing t T-shirt, while everyone else is wearing hoodies or coats.
The final panel of our Digipak is where the CD would be placed and held in the case. We chose to have the panel feature all of us pointing towards the centre, creating the implication of unity and interaction, with each other and the audience. We also included a plain white T-shirt in the panel, referencing the band that created the song originally, the 'Plain White T's'. The photoshopping in this panel is similar to the playing cards with each of us in our own colours, over the background of the back panel.
